I have always loved being in nature and listening to the stories it tells. We live amongst the rich soil and systems that manage and connect entire networks, emitting energy and bounty to create and sustain life. Ol’ Spore grew from my discovery and love of the fascinating world of fungi. It started with foraging porcini, their penny copper cap secretly peeking through the grass and the thrill of finding them. They quickly became my muse in my artwork and watercolor paintings. Ol’ Spore tells the story of a journey to find when, in the end, we become found ourselves, Foraged By The Forest. A journey of searching in a space where we can be free, hold the world, and feel the invisible tethers connecting us back to our roots. Setting out to seek the forest’s treasures and leaving with a feeling that can only be found by teaming up with nature.
